About Us
Our Mission
King of Glory Preschool is a community service ministry of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Newbury Park, California. Founded in 1991, our beautiful facility was constructed specifically to house the preschool. In this child-centered, nurturing environment, children develop physical, social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and creative skills, providing them with a positive attitude about life and learning.
Philosophy & Goals
At King of Glory we value children for who they are, not for what they know or what they can do. We demonstrate this by listening to them, recognizing their efforts, and providing opportunities for each child to feel successful.
We strive to build a "language rich" environment to ensure that young children gain the verbal skills necessary to communicate feelings, thoughts, and needs. We promote creative adventure with language by exposing our students to the best of early childhood literature, and encouraging their own imaginative use of language.
Our Curriculum
Our program is carefully planned to help each child build a creative and healthy self-image, to develop empathy for others, and to develop critical thinking skills necessary for everyday living. Although our schedule is dictated by the needs and interests of our students.
At King of Glory we provide a climate in which children can explore their world at their own pace. Through "hands-on" activity centers, and experiences, children are encouraged to discover answers, properties, relationships, skills, and concepts for themselves.

Hello all, my name is Shannon Meyerson, and I am the Director of King of Glory Preschool. With over 25 years of experience in early childhood education, I am deeply passionate about fostering a nurturing environment where children feel loved, supported, and encouraged to grow. Holding a Bachelor’s in Child Development and an Early Childhood Credential, I am committed to the social and emotional well-being of every child, as well as the important relationships between parents and children in our community.
At King of Glory Preschool, I believe that building strong, positive connections is key to helping children develop a sense of love, friendship, and belonging. We focus on creating a community where children are empowered to grow socially and emotionally, preparing them for a lifetime of meaningful relationships and success. My approach is centered on collaboration with families, ensuring that we work together to support each child's unique needs and milestones.

My name is Lauren, and I am the office manager here at KOG preschool. I have worked with children since I was 12 years old at a church nursery. Prior to working at KOG I was working for CVUSD as a paraeducator working with children with special needs. I am currently a student myself finishing my degree of Bachelors in Educational studies.

I live in Moorpark with my husband and 2 boys ages 10 and 3. I went to KOG Preschool myself as a child and am so excited to be working here and have my son here as well. I love seeing the children and their happy faces on the yard each morning and getting to know each and every one of them.

My name is Charlene and I earned my Associate degree from Moorpark college, and have been working in the field of early childhood development for 35 years. I have been married for 43 years, and have one daughter and a grandson who is also a student at KOG preschool. In my spare time I enjoy spending time and traveling with my family.

My name is Jacki, and I have been passionate about teaching preschoolers for quite some time. I have been working at King of Glory since 2017. My favorite activities to teach the kids are circle time, art, and story time. Outside of the classroom I enjoy going to Starbucks with my two daughters Heather and Brittney. When the weather is sunny, I love driving to the beach!

Hi! My name is Nicole Patterson. I've been in the Child Development Field for over 20 years now. I have my bachelors in Child Development (2004) and my Masters in Human Development (2012). I'm very excited to be here at King of Glory. I have always been fascinated by the growth and development of children. I believe they are very special and an important part to our society. I've had years of experience working with 2-year-olds and I look forward to branching out with the 3-year-olds. Together, it's our job to help mold and shape them for a successful future. My motto has been, it takes a village. On a more personal note, I am very close with my family, I am the oldest of three, I have two younger brothers. I am the proud Auntie of six wonderful little munchkins. I try to spend as much time with them as I can. I also enjoy traveling on my free time with friends or to visit friends far away. I love shopping and scrapbooking my many wonderful experiences.

My undergraduate degree was in performance studies, I graduated from UC Berkley, and went on for my post graduate studies at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena. My Master's degree is in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I hold an Associate Teacher’s License from Moorpark College, which has provided me with a strong foundation in early childhood education.
Outside of the classroom, I’m a proud mother of two amazing boys—Gabriel, 15, and Elijah, 11. I’ve been married for 22 wonderful years and am a total sports mom. You’ll often find me cheering on my boys as they play soccer and baseball.
I’m thrilled to join the King of Glory family and look forward to getting to know all the wonderful children and families here.
